A One Piece at a Time Approach to Fixing Our Industry
#trucking #truckingindustry #veterantruckers
Our industry is in turmoil in many areas and for years the pandemic seemed to stop people from doing anything about it. Now that we have moved past that time frame and people are out and about events. Conferences are back and people are talking about many issues of training, safety, and professionalism so hopefully these issues will be addressed.
On many of our podcasts this month we talk to veteran truck drivers that still have passion for the industry. Training has come into play and there are even some new associations working in a National level to address issues at a Federal Level.
We talk with an Instructor of the Year that is determined to prepare students for the best experience possible. We find out how he does it. We also talk with a safety group that is changing the way they award safety professionals in the industry. That same safety group is hoping to inspire drivers to do more thorough inspections.
All of these groups are doing their part to address the issues within our industry. Getting the conversation started is one thing, executing for the long term is another. Each group is starting the conversation the way they see fit and hopefully it will merge to other areas and associations so we can work on issues together as many of them overlap. We may have a way to go but we will get there.
